Summer Trend: Grounded Fashion

This summer, beige on beige is no boring palette. Neutral natural toned loose trousers, shirts and scarves are your summer essentials. Add an earthy green for a pop of colour and you fit the bill.

On the runways, in magazines and all over Instagram, you'll see the layering of earthy tones. It's in fact been named by many one of the most important trends of 2019. Taupes, beige, khaki and off-whites from tan to cream are all part of summer's palette this year. From Burberry, who were also named the most sustainable luxury brand of 2018, to Jacquemus, many big brands have led the way with the minimalist look. It really is a look immersed in nature. Colours inspired by the scenery around us that fit in with it too whatever activity you may be doing. Earthy tones are purposefully practical, non-flashy and sophisticated. With neon also splattering itself on catwalks this year, it makes a nice alternative for more subtlety or the kind of scenario where neon may not quite bring the elegance you're looking for.   
      

 

But the best thing is that they are completely versatile. Whilst  generally providing a relaxed look with a neutral blank canvas, you can dress up with accessories and a cinched waist or down with loose fits keep it plain but still interesting. Earthy toned pieces can also do completely different things as part of different outfits depending on what they're paired with. Earthy staples are one of those clothing pieces you know you can throw on with every outfit without having to put too much time or thought into colour matching.  They go with any colour for a bolder look or can be layered on top    of each other for a more relaxed but also very current pairing to make a statement in itself.     
 

It's also a trend we fully support because earthy toned items are such staples that you're bound to get good use out of your picks for years to come. Filling your wardrobe with these kind of staples is the best way to go if you're planning not to give in to fast fashion. With the current waste that the fashion industry produces ,   the more smartly and thoughtfully you can buy the better! It also  means no focus is taken away from the authentic you.
