Our logo perfectly represents everything we’re trying to achieve and everything we do. Motherland was created as a manifestation of inspiration with visions of progressive society in mind. This inspiration derives from India. The logo resonating with the ashoka chakra on the flag. As also reflected in the logo, we believe in the culmination that is ubiquitous in Indian culture. Take the sense of festival celebrations, the bustling streets or even the unity that sport brings to the country. We intend to channel this to project and enhance the complimentary relationship between collaboration and individuals in the global community. 

Motherland Studio is our art and design inspired coworking space in the bustling heart of Kolkata. Coworking is a growing trend in India and is here to stay. India is one of the largest markets for coworking spaces with its climate of start ups, innovation and rapid growth.   

Our unique coworking space uses the benefits of collaboration to both breed and be inspired by creative initiatives. The minimalist design studio hosts start ups and innovative businesses to encourage the exchange of ideas to nurture the possibility of new ones. Large tables and open space flooded with natural light boast an inviting design to create a community rather than just a work space. We intend to create an inspiring environment with interiors influenced by New York's lofts that resonate with artists and young creatives. With a range of amenities like a conference and private room, kitchen space, WiFi and free tea and coffee all included, it's a perfect cost efficient choice for start up businesses.     

We give back to society by opening our space to be used for workshops, exhibitions, photoshoots and tournaments. We nurture and aid innovative brands by allowing them to use our space and fill it with creativity. We promote our vision of community and art with classes like pottery, cooking and painting, bringing people in to be involved in these. We're always looking to expand uses of our space so get in contact if you're interested in attending or hosting a class or hiring the studio. 

We also emphasise the importance of valuing the environments and spaces around us. Our flagship space in Kolkata in fact makes use of an 150 year old apartment in an even older British building. We’re also a plastic free zone and work with brands selling sustainable products as well as linking with our own range of sustainable, ethical clothing.   

Brown Boy, one of our in house sustainable brands, is our  ethical menswear range. We use upcycled materials to make 100% organic cotton clothing . The Fair Trade approved range doesn't indulge in sweatshops because we recognise that each person in the process of the end product matters. Our products are 100% vegan and PETA approved. We’re are working on new initiatives to continue to allow our values to infiltrate society and to make Motherland even more environmentally and socially beneficial. We will be opening the a second branch of our coworking spaces with an inbuilt Café. It will sell sustainable products and use local produce. We will soon come out with an ethical and sustainable womenwear range utilising fabrics handloomed here in India.
